We saw Rasputina at the charming
and tiny all ages Paradox Theater in Seattle in October 2002. The young
audience was so enthusiastically and tastefully dressed, all paleness
and Victorian blacks. Luna looked like a White Russian, though we know
he's really an anarchist, and Mark, of the Paradox, saved the concert
poster for PinkopaQue and pointed out to us those dressed for strawberry
picking. What we liked best was the fullness of the sound and the breathless
attacks. We felt like nothing had fallen into the insipid cracks of
'pretty' or 'rethorical', though the band and music were so beautiful.
Now we listen to Rasputina twice a day, and think it the perfect and
gothiest of bands.
